Cascades (series)

The Cascade series is inspired by traditional chinese painting and revolves around the figure of the cascade, symbol and incarnation of permanent movement. The water flows, always different though always similar, both immutable and flowing. Through its movement, it reveals the static elements of the universe, never changing though slowly changing. In chinese paintings, the immutable elements are the mountains, here they are the human interventions : a cube drenched by the water, a straight fountainhead… The artworks of the Cascades series are finely crafted compositions which explore this dialogue between the changing nature of reality and the rational impression of human beings. They are made of pixel particles moved by generative algorithms of fluid dynamics, always moving, always different, always similar to itself.
